The knee cushion is about 1/2 inch thick and a foot long. It is big enough that I can put both knees on it easily. I haven't been able to try it in the garden yet, as we have had nothing but rain for weeks. However I did get to test it on the hardest surface that I have. I tested it on my Terra Cotta floors. My entire house is Terra cotta floors. Usually when I give my dogs a bath I either sit on the tub edge and awkwardly bend around to bathe them, or kneel and bend over. Either way my.back ends up hurting. If I kneel on the floor, then my knees would hurt. With this knee cushion, I can easily and comfortably give my dogs a bath.

In my opinion these scrubbers are just the right thickness, it is easy to bend them to get them into tight corners. These pads can be used on a surface that is unscratchable. Do not use on Teflon. The first thing that I tested mine on was my glass top stove. It seems that I'm the only one who cleans it. It worked great. I purchased a plate that had a very sticky sticker on it, I was able to remove it and the residue with the scrubber. They hold up to even tough stuck on stsins. They last for a few uses. Just sanitize after use. Unlike SOS pads they don't rust and fall apart after one use. They can be cut in half for smaller jobs
