Chia seeds are a member of the sage family (Salvia Hispanica) The little black and white seeds were once a staple in the Incan, Mayan and Aztec cultures as well as some Indian cultures. Chia is the Mayan word for strength. The seeds were used by those ancient cultures as a mega energy food. These chia seeds are organic and imported from Mexico.
